THE TP SHORTAGE

INTRODUCTION
For this VR project, the team agreed on creating a basic game using the Unity 3D game engine. Since the team had little knowledge of Unity and game development as a whole, with thought hard about what can be developed with the skills we have. We end up creating a simple collection game, called The Toilet Paper Shortage or The TP Shortage for short.

When coming up with ideas for how the game will look like, player interaction, and so on, we thought about creating a shopping market. The market will be the player environment in which the player can move about and collect toilet paper given a time frame. While the player is playing the game, they would face challenges with enemies (i.e other customers) when trying to collect as much TP as possible. The idea is that customers would steal toilet paper from the player, run away with it and the player has to steal it back. After the user collects the need TP amount they go to checkout and the game ends. Now, as stated in the beginning the team has a very limited skill set when it comes to developing player/enemy interactions and other matters, so we lowered our exceptions for a more realistic plan. We kept the general idea of the game the same, the player will collect TP in a certain start time range(currently 5 minutes). The environment is changed to an area with 4 walls which contains many shelves placed in maze-like form with TP spread out across the area.DEVELOPMENT STORY:
